Cover measurement

Eight laser sensors measure the outer points of a workpiece every 45 degrees and record any deformations that may have occurred. The algorithm calculates the difference to the ideal on the basis of the recorded data. A special highlight is the automated measurement by an integrated center point compensation. If the workpiece was not placed directly in the center for measurement and the angle of incidence of the laser is not 45 degrees, the algorithm directly compensates the newly created angle. The pure measuring process takes less than 1 second whereas the complete test process including product handling is completed after about 8-10 seconds (depending on the product). The accuracy is +/- 0.02 mm. Therefore, it is a fast and cost-effective quality assurance in the production process.
