Using the equipment provided here, patterned aluminum glazing bars (in fixed lengths) are wet-painted on their welded ends in a single pass.
Implementation and Solution
In this process, the rail is inserted into the machine in the correct position by the plant operator and guided under a rubber-coated coating roller with the aid of a total of 8 profile rollers (profile rollers: optional accessory) driven by a servomotor.
The painting process is carried out using an optimized Tampoprint wet painting system (attached component, as shown in the sample). Unlike the current system, the coating roller and the rubber rollers are driven independently by two servomotors. In this design, the drive for the rubber roller is equipped with a special backlash-free gearbox.

The finished, painted component is then removed from the machine. Once the end piece has been approved, a new rung can be painted.
On the left side of the system, the fully painted rail is conveyed out of the system by the profile feeder. There, it can finally be removed manually by a worker and placed on a drying cart. The system is operated via a user-friendly PC-based control system using a touchscreen interface. The visualization and functionality are based on the system used at the Coater at the BBA.
The drives and electrical sensors are not designed to be explosion-proof. A prerequisite is a properly functioning exhaust system with flow monitoring.
