Effective January 1, 2026, MKW GmbH of Wuppertal acquired the cobot division of the PTS Group, headquartered in Dormagen. The other business units of the PTS Group will continue to operate and are not affected by the acquisition.
With this acquisition, MKW is expanding its range of services in the field of automation to include collaborative robotics. The PTS Group’s cobot division has experience in planning and implementing cobot applications in which humans and robots work together directly—particularly in flexible production and assembly environments.
For us at MKW, this step represents a logical next step in the development of our automation portfolio. This additional expertise in cobots complements our existing know-how in special-purpose machine construction and industrial automation. This allows us to offer solutions that are even better tailored to the actual needs on the shop floor.
We see cobots primarily as a useful complement to traditional automation solutions: in situations where processes need to remain flexible or where automation is to be introduced gradually. With the integration of the cobot division, we will be able to provide comprehensive support for such projects in the future. From the initial idea through the design phase to implementation in existing production environments.
With this acquisition, we are strengthening our position as a provider of practical automation solutions and strategically expanding our offerings in an area that is becoming increasingly important for many industrial companies.
